Originally from Dallas, Tabrez moved to South Carolina to accept a job offer. Little did he know, there was not much to do in Columbia! He would spend most afternoons going to the local farmers market, watching movies, and going to bed at 10:30pm, sharp.

Around this time, Nilopher had just graduated dental school and was moving back home from New York to start her career. One day, Nilopher was introduced to a girl named Ami who just so happened to be one of Tabrez’s best friends. The next weekend, Ami invited Nilopher to join her and her friends at the farmer’s market. Nilopher knocked on Ami’s door, and Tabrez answered.

Tabrez answered the door with his laptop in one hand, making no eye contact or introduction. He was frantically searching for an apartment because his lease was about to end. Nilopher, who had moved and searched for apartments 7 times at this point, took his computer and offered to help.

That day turned into an apartment search, a break at a golf driving range, and conversations over Mexican food - where Tabrez has still not made any eye contact.

The next day Nilopher received a text from an unknown number asking for help finishing an apartment search. Tabrez knew Nilopher couldn’t pass up a good house hunt. They found what would be Tabrez’s future apartment and, after some convincing, Nilopher agreed to go on their first date - Thai Food and a Comedy Show.
